Northamptonshire Foraging Course

Daventry Country Park offers a wealth of foraging habitats. It's a great place to learn about edible plants and fungi growing all around us in the UK in autumn.

This foraging course walk is easy to reach from Northampton, Kettering, Milton Keynes, Rugby, Bletchley, Banbury, Brackley and Buckingham.

In this park, which holds a Green Flag Award, you will discover how to identify some commonly growing foods to forage for, how to avoid poisonous lookalikes, and hints on where to look.

When we meet up, we will go through the basics of foraging before heading out to discover the edibles in the area.

During the walk, you will be introduced to a number of edible species, given tips on harvesting and correct identification, and given recipe ideas. You will also get to sample a range of pre-made wild food tasters and preserves along the way, which could include soups, cordials, jams, pickles, herb salts, syrups, ferments, pestos or vinegars.

Exact meeting location given a few days before event.

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted on the course.

Participants on this course must be aged 18 years or older.
